Tomorrow's Election = CRUCIAL

I know that this is a hot topic.  We all have our opinions and perspectives.  All I ask is that you read this and consider...

"Lesser of 2 evils" analysis by David Barton:
I keep having people tell me that in this election, the only choice we have is to vote for the lesser of two evils. So, let me see if I have this right:

"One is pro-abortion, one is pro-life; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is pro-gay-marriage, one is pro-traditional marriage; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is pro-Muslim, one is pro-Israel; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is for increasing debt, one is for reducing debt; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is against increased energy exploration, one is for it; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is for violating the rights of religious conscience, the other for preserving it intact; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is for dramatically cutting the size of the military, the other for strengthening it; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is against parental empowerment and school choice, the other is for it; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is for appointing judicial activists to the Supreme Court, the other for original intent constitutionalists; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is for the government takeover of private businesses, the other for entrepreneurship and free enterprise and private ownership; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is for an expanded role for the United Nations in American affairs, the other for a reduced role; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?
One is against American Exceptionalism and wants to be like Europe, the other promotes American Exceptionalism and America as a unique, special, blessed nation; so both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

I'm not sure that I get the "lesser of two evils" thing, unless folks are deliberately excluding all of these (and many other) serious issues and just looking at the ones they want to pick and choose. The fantasy of "two evils are our only choice" can be sustained only if one denies the above issues."

And a few more...

More pictures

I tried posting a few more pictures but my blog app wasn't cooperating so here they are.

A few pictures of my ever growing munchkins :-)

I can't believe Emma will only be 2 for a few more weeks!  She is such a grown up little girl and is definitely a first born :-)  She loves to help me in the kitchen (like when she completely emptied and stacked the DIRTY dishes from the dishwasher while I was out of the room a few days ago!) and is really enjoying her little brother now that he is old enough to play.  We are still learning to share and not be bossy but it is a delight to watch the two of them laughing and running together.

Reagan is a whopping 15 months!  I can't believe how quickly the time has gone.  He has definitely gone from a baby to a toddler now.  I just love watching him "run" after Emma and push her in her babydoll stroller.  He is our cuddler and almost always has a smile on his face.  Most of his pictures are in the highchair and that is because he is ALWAYS eating!  He is a little peanut but he can sure pack the food away!

BLESSED

I have really let my blog go.  I never thought Facebook would take the place of this blog.  I don't post very much on Facebook but it is so easy to put a picture up there that I tend to forget about putting them here.  One thing that I do really appreciate about the blog, different from Facebook, is that it's a quiet place to share what God is doing in our family.  And He is doing.  Sometimes I battle the lies from Satan that I need to have a big long list of important things I am doing each week.  When I see friends on Sunday we are always asking each other how the week was or what we have been busy with lately.  It feels as though my answer is usually the same!  I don't go out a whole lot during the week (by choice :-) and yet I stay plenty busy!  I am learning (and yes it is a day by day lesson) that the most important thing I can do with my life right now is to grow in my walk with my Savior and follow His priorities.  Those priorities are my husband and children.  That doesn't mean I can't be involved in anything else or have other friendships, it just means that my focus is different.  This means that even if my day consists only of laundry, cooking, and training, if that is what HE has for me that is enough.  I am so blessed to be a mommy and am continually reminded of how gracious, patient, and faithful our heavenly Father is!

Good Food and Good Friends!

Last month I had the opportunity to attend the Reformation of Food and the Family Conference and it was Awesome!  The session topics ranged from the family table and God's design for Biblical hospitality to detoxing and eating more nutrient dense foods.  I especially enjoyed many of the nutritional breakout sessions as this is one of my passions.  The Lord sent me away with an arsenal of ideas as well as encouragement and accountablility from friends who also have a passion for helping their families to grow strong, healthy bodies.

Here is one of the new recipes we have recently tried and everyone (including avocado hating compay ;-) loved it!  (One of my new goals is to find creative ways to get more raw food into our diet.)

We also ran into several of the Duggar ladies while at the conference.  They are such a dear family and we always enjoy spending time with them.  We were able to go out to dinner with them the last night of the conference.

Smelling the flowers with Daddy :-)

My little girl loves being with her daddy!

Happy Girl :-)

I love it when I actually catch a few of the everyday moments on camera. I'm usually too slow!

Best Buddies

He is growing so fast!

I know I have been terribly neglectful of my little blog lately so here are some pictures for your enjoyment :-)  Our little "man child", as Justin calls him, is growing so fast.  He is a very laid back, happy, all-boy little guy.  He adores his big sister and has been such a blessing in our home.

Her Life Calling?

As responsible, loving parents we feel that it is important to help our children discover God's will and plans for their lives.  Much to our delight, our blossoming 2 year old is quickly rising to the top.  It is quite evident (as you will see below) that this bright little girl has an amazing nack for fashion!  She is a pro at accessorizing and has an uncanny ability to put just the right pieces together to create an amazing outfit!  Don't you think?!  :-)
